January 1, 2020Martin Luther King Jr. is an iconic leader for civil rights and peaceful activism. Each year we celebrate his achievements with an official federal holiday. On the third Monday of January, Martin Luther King Jr. Day is observed as a day to give back to the community. Known as MLK Day of Service, there are many opportunities for you and your students to give back to the community.

MLK Day of Service
Martin Luther King Jr. was a visionary leader who was rooted in achieving social justices through nonviolent actions. He was also deeply committed to uniting the community and creating a better future for everyone. On his day of remembrance, honor Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy by engaging in service to the community. Be sure to ask yourself and your students, “What are you doing for others?”
